Budapest Marathon
The first marathon in Budapest was hosted in 1984.

In 2006 over 5700 single runners and about 900 runners in teams of 2,
were running the half marathon distance in Budapest. Another 1000
runners were participating in the fun run. More than 1200 runners from
37 countries came to participate on the race.
The race centre can be found at City Park (Varosliget), in the
Szechenyi Bath (Szechenyi Furdo), address: Kos Karoly setany. You can
get there on foot from Heroes Square (Hosok tere), or by subway yellow
line (M1).
Running 21 km is not easy and can be boring sometimes. The Budapest
Marathon tries to help the runners with some fun, so there will be
several musicians on the course.
