Budapest Opera
The Budapest Opera is located in the city district of Pest. The
building counts to one of the most peachiest ones of Neorenaissance
architecture.
The opera was built between 1875 to 1884 and richly decorated by barock
elements, loads of ornaments, paintings and sculptures. Especially
mentionable are the wall galleries in the stairways and the auditorium.
Those masterpieces of art were painted by Bertalan Szekely, Mor Than
and Karoly Lotz.

Infront of the building are two monuments. One of Ferenc Erkel, the
composer of the Hungarian hymn, and the other one of Franz Liszt. Both
were created by Alajos Strobl.
